Fire Safety and Compliance
AlphaRiser FR is a horizontal firestopping solution with a rating of up to 240 minutes. It uses a unique ‘drop-bracket’ system that enables the riser floor to be lowered, then specialist fire compounds can be poured on top to create an integrated structural slab. Additionally, compartmentation support beams (WallBeam FR) are rated up to 120 minutes, enabling partition walls to be built directly off the system and reducing reliance on secondary contractors to fireproof secondary steel beams.
Flexibility and Adaptability
AlphaRiser joist supports can be easily adjusted to accommodate changes to locations of MEP services. Standard layouts allow the riser units to be delivered to site without the final MEP design having been confirmed. Once the design is finalised, changes to support locations can be achieved easily and Comtec’s team will work with contractors to ensure that the quality and structural integrity of the system are not compromised. If changes to the riser are required later on in the building’s life, they can be carried out in conjunction with Comtec’s support simply by referencing the riser’s unique identification number (UIN) to align original designs with new requirements.

The AlphaRiser system integrates with all construction types: steel frames, RC frames, precast slabs, and slip or jump-form cores. AlphaRiser is also available in an all-steel A1-rated version for areas requiring non-combustible materials.
