Why use AlphaRiser Retro-fit?

Create a pre-made cassette that can fix into an existing slab-void that provides a safe working platform from the point of installation.
Easy to make adjustments to joist supports to accommodate MEP positioning.

The grating and joists are made from GRP providing a strong and lightweight product with many benefits over traditional steel alternatives.
No hot works permits required for cutting penetrations through the GRP grating.

AlphaRiser Retrofit – FreeBeam System for Existing Structures

Application:
Developed for use in existing buildings or retrofitted to new build projects.
The FreeBeams can be integrated into one or more sides of our AlphaRiser CIR system to achieve a solution where one side of the riser opening at floor level has a core wall or other element where casting into a floor slab is not possible or desired.

Construction Features:

FreeBeam units incorporate AlphaRiser channel on one side for compatibility with CIR riser configurations.
Enables riser installation where casting into a floor slab is restricted or undesired.
FreeBeam supports WallBeam ends via proprietary brackets, avoiding complex fixing to structure.

FreeBeam Configurations:

FB150: Rectangular section; suitable for concealed fixing or where no outer structure fixing is required.
FB151: Upward flange for direct wall fixing or clamping via VWC (Vertical Wall Channel); brackets can be pre-fixed for efficient unit installation.
FB152: Downward flange for fixing to wall or deep floor edge; ideal for underside access installations using MEWP or similar platforms.
FB153: Horizontal top flange for fixing to existing floor openings; secured with concrete screws or flanged onto steel/concrete beams.

System Integration:

Compatible with AlphaRiser CIR and WallBeam systems.
Not fire-rated horizontally. Please contact Comtec technical team for advice where horizontal fire-stopping is required.
