Specifier Notes
Application:
Designed for open floor slab construction, the AlphaRiser CIR is a pre-assembled cast-in riser unit suitable for fixing directly to the casting deck or supporting primary steelwork.
Construction Features:
- All sides use AlphaRiser channel shuttering for full integration into the concrete slab.
- Alternative edge configurations (CWL version) available for non-standard sides.
- Angled riser openings supported via bend-formed joist ends.
- Joist layout optimised for service penetration alignment and grating support.
Fixing Options:
- To casting deck: Long-reach screws secure the unit through the grating; removable after casting to leave a fair-faced soffit.
- To steelwork: Fixed via pre-drilled bottom flange holes using shot-fire or fine-thread fixings. Extended flanges available to reach steel supports; large extensions may require temporary propping or gusseting.
Integration with Wall Systems:
- Compatible with Comtec WallBeams for supporting fire-rated partitions via AlphaRiser channel integration.
Slipform & Jumpform Compatibility:
- SF Channel: Cast-in via coupling clamps/plates during slipform wall construction.
- JF Channel: Fixed to formwork for jumpform walls to provide continuous channel at riser positions.
Alternative Core Wall Interface:
- The FreeBeam channel is recommended to be used on a side of the riser that interfaces with the core wall. This allows the core to be cast incorporating a vertical wall channel (VWC) which simply accepts the fixing of the riser unit through the FreeBeam.
- SF Channel must be used where horizontal firestopping is required as the FreeBeam does not currently satisfy horizontal fire stopping requirements.
